Eric Decker, 2010 NFL Draft: In-game report vs. Cal, 9-19-09
1 min readMinnesota’s Eric Decker showed everything that he brings to the table in a September 2009 battle against California. Decker caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns in this contest.
In addition, he added a touchdown pass during the contest. The route-running was on display, as was the ability to catch the football away from his frame. His size works to his advantage on crossing routes, corner patterns and digs. The deft body control is evident when running double move patterns.
Toughness is not an issue for the former 38th round MLB draft pick. For his career, Decker finished with 227 receptions for 3,119 yards (13.7 YPR) and 24 touchdowns. He also found time to post 10 tackles during his time with the Golden Gophers.
