The Michigan State Spartans (4-8) battled valiantly against the Penn State Nittany Lions (10-2) for one half. Leading by 13 points after the first two quarters, the Nittany Lions pulled away with 15 points in the third stanza. They went on to shutout the Spartans 42-0 in the final game of the regular season.
Penn State was led by one of quarterback Drew Allar’s best performances in 2023. After 70-and-79- yard passing performances against Michigan and Rutgers, respectively, Allar completed 17-of-26 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns against the Spartans. His 60-yard post route to wide receiver Omari Evans nearly produced another touchdown before backup quarterback Beau Pribula rushed for a two-yard score.
