DraftNasty spotlights North Carolina PG Cole Anthony

1 min read

Anthony started 17 games for the Tar Heels in 2019-20 while dealing with a knee injury that robbed him of 11 starts.

Cole Anthony’s rise from top-ranked recruit to North Carolina All-ACC point guard took on quite the journey. He was a productive member for one of the Nike EYBL’s most competitive AAU squads (PSA Cardinals) before becoming the leader of the unit.

In 2019-20 at North Carolina, Anthony battled a knee injury but still averaged 18.5 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 4 assists. His star may be diminished heading into the 2020 NBA Draft, but the 2019 McDonald’s All-American Game MVP is still going to be one of the most sought-after guards in this year’s draft.

Anthony, pictured in 2016 for the PSA Cardinals, averaged 5.7 rebounds per game in 2019-20 for North Carolina. He also averaged 1.52 steals per game as a freshman.
