DraftNasty spotlights North Carolina PG Cole Anthony

Cole Anthony’s rise from top-ranked recruit to North Carolina All-ACC point guard took on quite the journey. He was a productive member for one of the Nike EBYL’s most competitive AAU squads (PSA Cardinals) before becoming the leader of the unit. In 2019-20 at North Carolina, Anthony battled a knee injury but still averaged 18.5 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 4 assists. His star may be diminished heading into the 2020 NBA Draft, but the 2019 McDonald’s All-American Game MVP is still going to be one of the most sought-after guards in this year’s draft.

Anthony, pictured in 2016 for the PSA Cardinals, averaged 5.7 rebounds per game in 2019-20 for North Carolina. He also averaged 1.52 steals per game as a freshman.

DraftNasty spotlights Texas C Mohamed Bamba: ‘As the World Turns’

Former Texas center Mohamed Bamba brings an underrated game and 7-foot-10-inch wingspan (the longest ever recorded ) to the NBA.  The former Westtown School (Pa.) product stood out  for the PSA Cardinals in his matchup with current Kentucky center Nick Richards during the 2016 Nike EBYL Peach Jam.  The performance was only a sign of things to come.  As a freshman for the Longhorns, Bamba averaged 12.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and finished second in the nation in blocked shots per game (3.7).  Along the way, he shot 54.1-percent from the field.  We went inside the game of the 2017-18 1st team All-Big 12 defender during our visit to check him in July 2016.
