TCU’s Bud Clark enters the 2026 NFL Draft on the heels of yet another outstanding season. He represents the rare collegian who stayed six seasons at one school. As Clark explained to HornedFrog Blitz during the summer of 2025, his defensive coordinator (Andy Avalos) played a major part:
“Being around Coach Avalos again…I feel like he has an NFL-mind. So I at least wanted to be in there, pretty much, to grow my knowledge. And I feel like I wasn’t too ready, but I was ready,” the sixth-year senior explained.
Avalos coached the likes of current Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence while at Boise State. The Broncos former standout linebacker also coached former Cowboys second-team All-Pro Leighton Vander Esch.
Despite Clark’s linear frame, he mixed it up effectively as a tackler (see video) during his time for the Horned Frogs. In addision, the Alexandria, Louisiana native ranks fourth on the school’s all-time list for interceptions (15).
