Dating back to his true freshman season, Miami (Fla.) S James Williams has been productive for the Hurricanes. The former Plantation American Heritage HS (Fla.) star was ranked as a five-star prospect by 247Sports coming out of the prep ranks and was coached there by former NFL Pro Bowler cornerback Patrick Surtain II as a sophomore before transferring to play a season for the Western Wildcats (Davie, Fla.).
What position will Williams (6’4, 230) play at the next level? At the 2024 Senior Bowl, he moved to linebacker and played effectively on game day (five tackles, TFL). One of those tackles included an impressive take down of New Hampshire’s Dylan Laube while working on the punt unit.
