Nationals get defensive with selection of Brown

Former Oklahoma State SS Marcus Brown was taken by the Washington Nationals in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
The Washington Nationals selected former Oklahoma State Cowboys shortstop Marcus Brown with the 138th overall pick in the fifth round and a big reason centered around his defensive capabilities. Brown has played second base, but stood out as a junior this past season at the shortstop position.
Along with teammate Roc Riggio, who went in the fourth round (129th overall) to the New York Yankees, the middle of the team’s defense was in steady hands.
