Former Creighton All-Big East performer and current Razorbacks outfielder Jared Wegner lasted until the ninth round of the 2023 MLB Draft. The New York Yankees selected the 6-foot, 220-pounder despite a number of injury concerns throughout his collegiate tenure.
When on the field, the former Bluejay displayed solid movement skills in right field and belted 15 home runs in his lone season at Arkansas. Those 15 home runs came in just 43 games, which marked the second-highest total of games played in his five years at the college level.
The Yankees recently signed the former Razorback and graduate student to a deal that was below the slot value for his respective selection.
