There were not many balls that got by Alabama CF Caden Rose, who teamed with right fielder Andrew Pinckney, Jr. and left fielder Tommy Seidl to give the Crimson Tide pitchers a sense of comfort in the outfield. Rose displayed more pop at the plate this past season and increased his activity on the base pads. The Boston Red Sox selected the former Bob Jones High School (Ala.) two-sport star (baseball, football) with the 208th overall pick of the seventh round in the 2023 MLB Draft.
In three seasons as a starting outfielder (130 starts) for the Crimson Tide, Rose committed just two errors (zero in 2023). While his on-base percentage declined markedly from 2022, he drew one more walk and increased his slugging percentage by nearly 63 points in 2023. He became one of six Crimson Tide players drafted in the three-day event earlier this month.
